Lesson Learned

I consider myself to be a reasonably good parent. I watch my kids (most of the time), I bathe them regularly, I feed them on occasion; I even require them to take off their shoes upon entering the house. So I ask, how does a reasonably good parent end up with a hole in their wall? The answer is this: in my attempt to be not only a good parent, but a hygienically well kept person, I took a 10 minute shower, leaving my kids UNATTENDED! I thought, I'll just put in good old Toy Story 2, and they'll both still be sitting on the couch when I am done . . . right? WRONG! Lets just say that Tigger, and the push around airplane that he pilots, is now a "downstairs only" toy, as our basement is unfinished. So the moral of this story is, if you want to smell nice, either shower before your kids awake, or when someone else can watch them. Lesson learned the hard way!

Marianne, that is so funny! Kids can do the most crazy things. Once when Taylor was about 3 1/2 and Rachel was 2, I accidentally fell asleep for about 5 or 6 minutes(not kidding, thats all) while we were watching a movie together. I woke up to the sound of the bath water running(Taylors doing). I jumped up as fast as I could to find them getting undressed for the bath, but they had been busy putting my entire bottom shelfs of the linen closet (every towel, sheet, etc.) into the tub. I could not believe that they had gotten into so much trouble so fast when I was truly right there, I must have been very tired from working all day or something to fall asleep with 2 small kids, I couldn't believe that I did. I couldn't get mad, because it was ultimately my fault for falling asleep (plus, they were so tiny), it was actually kind of funny.
